Project Red Thread is a creative community project to make our connection to the Divine Mother visible and to reveal and honour her as the red thread throughout the history of the earth and humanity.
Project Red Thread
The Project
Each participant embroiders a representation of their connection to the Divine Mother with a red thread on a white cloth to celebrate her in her many faces and names as the red thread that unites us in one unique human family. A collaborative tribute to the Divine Mother and the different ways in which she continues to live in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. The aim is then to bring all the squares together and create one great banner heralding the return of the Divine Mother in our era.
The Divine Mother, Humanity’s Red Thread
Throughout all eras, civilisations and cultures, the Divine Mother has been present and has helped us to live in harmony with the sacred and all manifestations of life. When we lost our connection with her, when we closed our hearts to the Mother, we also distanced ourselves from the earth and from the frequency of life in and around us, and we began to generate more chaos and suffering than beauty and love.
It is she who brings people together, who can recreate unity in a fragmented and divided world. Whatever our origins or beliefs, we all have in common that we were born of a mother who represents our first – and sometimes last – link to the Divine Mother. Only she can resurrect us and bring us back to who we really are, only she can resuscitate in us the love of life instead of the fear of death to have it lead all our actions and our creations.
Let’s celebrate and honour our connections to the Divine Mother in all their diversity, and make this deep weaving and the experience of our relationship with Her alive and visible through our creations. Together we can reveal what unites us: the blood that flows in our veins, the elixir of life that will be represented by the red thread in our creations, and the love for the reality of life that we share with the Mother.
What is the Divine Mother called for you? Mary, Mary Magdalene, Lakshmi, Tara, Brigid, Ana, Isis, Demeter, Oshun, Sekhmet, Yemanja, Venus, Gaia, Kali, Quan Yin, Durga, Pele, Kuma, Maat, …. How will you represent your relationship with her? As a symbol, a prayer, a word, a face, an image?
Embroider the symbol that represents your relationship with her with a red thread on a white piece of fabric and share it with us so that we can celebrate the Divine Mother in her many faces and names as the red thread that unites us in the same human family.
How to participate
Participation is open to everyone - women, men, children, members of this community or others, as long as the subject of the creation is your relationship with the Divine Mother.
