Project Red Thread – The Inspiration

The Red Dress is a collaborative artistic project that has revealed itself as a work of alchemy. The dress reunites the embroideries of more than 265 women from more than 30 different countries. Amongst the artists there are women who survived war, who deal with poverty or who live in refugee camps, who share what is most precious to them. Some chose to share words of hope, others share their ancestral and sacred embroideries and take us on a journey by revealing the beauty of their land.

I met the dress for the first time on the eve of starting a womb purification process that was inspired by Mary Magdalene and my studies of sacred texts on the ancient practices of priestesses. I was moved, I journeyed, I listened to the stories of all those women by witnessing their art. Above all, I felt the invincible desire to live through shine through their sharings, the power of a human spirit that is never extinguished, the life force and the power of the heart that allow us to create beauty in all circumstance, an unconditional commitment to life. What a beautiful manifesto of the creative power and the transformative power of the womb of women. This project is a matrix of a reality where the talents of many people come together to create something that surpasses the power of the individual creations and sublimates them at the same time. Unity in diversity. A red thread weaving through all those hearts and wombs – the urgent and burning desire to be alive and co-create a reality of beauty and harmony.
